Winside Marine Visits

Former Winside Public School graduate United States Marine Brian Todd Greunke visited his Alma-mater on September 25th. With all students gathered around the flagpole, Elementary Principal Mrs. Sarah Remm introduced the special visitor.  This exceptional Marine shared with the students the importance of setting goals and working hard to reach each goal.  He impressed the young audience with his story of having completed his life long dream of becoming a Marine.  The entire Winside Elementary witnessed the raising of the U.S. flag by Marine Greunke with the assistance of Jake and Tyler Paulsen. The Winside Band under the direction of Mrs. Kathy Hansen played the Star Spangled Banner. Winside Elementary students and staff warmly thank U.S. Marine Brian Greunke for taking the time to visit and for his service to our Country.
